Google my Business

How to set up Google My Business as a Realtor®?

Google is the most popular search engine in the world, and it offers your business the most critical search medium that allows you to reach your target audience. The majority of the traffic on the websites on the web comes from Google, and it is crucial to arm your website with a lucrative strategy that wins over the complex algorithms of Google. All Realtors® are focused on ensuring that their websites are Google friendly to achieve a dynamic ranking and higher visibility on the web.

For those who simply do not have the time to manage their websites, Google has a feature called Google My Business that allows Realtors® to manage their digital presence across various platforms easily. By using this platform, you can make it easier for your customers not just to find you but also to learn more about you and your services.

Improve your visibility and search engine ranking

Google My Business is an excellent way to manage all your Google accounts. You can provide much-needed information about your business, such as working hours, off days, and all the services provided by your company. It also allows you to post photos and videos to promote your business on the web. Google My Business was introduced by Google in June last year and a short period; it has become a popular platform for Realtors® to make their online presence strong and meaningful. All these details are enough for your customers to find you easily on the internet.

Google My Business is essentially an online directory for businesses and a beneficial one at that for Realtors®. You may already have a website, but it is a good idea to set up your Google My Business page to make yourself more visible on the web. GMB is vital for your realty business even if you are not making use of professional Gmail or Google Adwords.

Now that you know how important it is for your realty business and your search engine ranking, it is time to set up your Google My Business account. Go to the page of GMB and sign in to your Google account. There is a dashboard on the page of GMB where you can put in relevant information about your business, such as company name, services provided, contact details and so on. There is a location tab on the dashboard where you can add the location when you click upon it. Do not forget to click on Add Single Location if you have only one business address as you want your customers to look for you at this address only.  It means that when a person searches for keywords similar to yours in your area, one will easily find you on Google.

When entering your business name, make sure you type the name correctly, as you may not be allowed to change the name afterward. In the category, choose Real Estate Agency to make your business clear to Google. Mark your address correctly on the map and avoid all suggestions by Google in this regard. Provided at the bottom of the page is an option to select ‘None of these match’ if none are appropriate.

Remember that your work is not complete until you have verified your address and other details that you have provided to Google. Until you have checked everything, the changes you have made on Google My Business will not show up when a customer searches for your business on Google. Google has two different methods of verifying the information provided by you and also decides upon the process, which is more suitable in your case.

You can verify it through the mail.

Most Realtors® like to verify the information about their business through the mail. When Google asks you how you would like to get the verification code from it, just choose the option of mail. When you select this option, Google sends your verification code through mail on a postcard. This mail can take up to 14 days to arrive at your address. You can verify the information with the help of the code given on the postcard to activate your Google My Business page.

You can also verify it on the phone

Google allows some businesses in some locations to verify their information on the phone. You can select this option, which is easier if Google shows your information. Google will call you up at the number of your business, and you can get the verification code on the phone rather than having to wait for 14 days to get it through the mail.

Once you have verified the information, your Google My Business page goes live, and people can see your information whenever they search on Google using your name, business name, or keywords that you have included in your profile.
